New York barber shop destroyed in bizarre truck theft

Last night two men stole a truck from the DEP and tried to get away. Being foolish enough to steal a government truck in a busy NYC neighborhood, they crashed into a cab and ran directly into this barber shop, which was destroyed. NY Daily News Identified the men as Raynel Green, 32, and Raymond Moore, 36. They allegedly stole the truck from a lot on the Lower east side after finding the keys in the vehicle. The would be joy-riders left a trail of destruction in their wake, causing a number of traffic accidents as they made their way north through the busy streets of Friday night Manhattan, culminating in the collision that caused the damage seen here. How were two individuals who were--according to sources--intoxicated, able to commit such insanity? An embarrassing security lapse for a government agency tasked with such responsibilities as monitoring the air quality of the city, among other regulatory duties. This is the aftermath. 2/11/12.
